This may look very hard to do, but in reality it was very easy and you just needed to be patient and have at least 4 extra hours to do this activity. The ingredients you need for this project are: 5 boxes of Betty Crocker cake mix (doesn't matter what flavor), and frosting (whatever color you prefer).
Last year me and my best friend Allison found a picture of this on pinterest and we went to our chemistry teacher and asked her if we can make this for extra credit and she said I am not sure ask me next year. So we asked her this year right before thanksgiving break and she said that this would be great! So Allison and I desided this weekend we were going to make this periodic table. So I got there around 2:00 and we started to make the cupcake mix and make some cupcakes.
After we made all the cupcakes we ended up with 154 cupcakes. We should have counted ahead of time! Once we counted out 118 we put them in groups of the "s" sublevel, the "p" sublevel, the "d" sublevel, and the "f" sublevel. After we were done with that we made 5 different colors of frosting. Purple, teal, pink, orange, and black are the colors that we made. The "s" sublevel is purple, the "p" sublevel is pink, the "d" sublevel is teal, the "f" sublevel is orange. After we got that done we wrote the element symbol on the cupcakes. Then we put them in the order they are on the periodic table. At the end all of this put together took 4 hours.
